Desknote boots into sleep mode (I think)

I have no idea why this has happened but when I turned my ECS A929 Desknote on tonight it would not boot up. There is no beep from the motherboard. All that happens is the fan starts, the power light comes on as does the sleep mode light (shaped like a half moon). Any suggestions or is it a right off?

When booting do you see any text from the bios? EG press del to enter setup?

nothing, the fan starts, the power light comes on as does the sleep light. Nothing at all on the screen, no start up beep.

Strange - do you have a connector on it to which you can connect an external monitor?

I have already tried that, the machine isnt booting at all.

Try removing the battery and boot with mains only

I dont use a battery on this, its mains only. It has really stumped me, use the machine every day and never had a problem. Its a few years old but its still a good machine.
