Desk top hijacked

My desktop background has been replaced by a Different background.All the icons are showing and function but if you right click it brings up a dropdown list which if you go into properties say it is an HTML document with the following address "file://C:\WINDOWS\Web\desktop.html". I have tried to change ot using control panel and have gone to the address and removed the file but none of this has worked.Also tried spybot and ad-aware again no luck.Can anybody help.This happened whilst on the inhternet.System is XPProfessional.

Try disabling the active desktop click here

Have you tried right clicking the desktop and selecting properties/background---then reselect your normal desktop?

If this has appeared by inadvertently chosing to set an image as desktop,reselecting your original should remove it.
