I have a Canon Pixma 8500i printer. My main output from this printer is photographs. Up to now, I have always used Genuine Canon inks. For financial reasons, I am forced to change to compatible inks. Can anyone recommend a top compatible ink brand, that will give me good quality photo print-outs?

I have always used compatible carts from Choice Stationery click here on both Canon and Epson printers for many years. I have never had any problems with the carts and the print quality for both text and photographs is excellent.
