Having trouble sending e-mails . I have a dial up account with Demon but use my partners computer which is BT Broadband. I have set my outging server to smpt.btconnect.com and my incoming as my demon pop3. Am I being foolish? I get an error 550 Receiptient not authorised ...rejected due to no authorisation destination groups. I have tried a number of e-mail addresses.

any POP3 mailbox via your partner's BT broadband connection, but you'll often find that an ISP has blocked Port 25 so you can't send via someone else's SMTP server. This is done to prevent the ISP from being used as a means for distributing spam.

In your case you say that you are trying to send via the BT server, but I wonder if you are using the correct SMTP server address? Try sending via: smtp.btinternet.com
