for laptops GPU's, you can't just take the drivers straight from the nvidia website, they don't by default support laptop GPU's - it's left up to OEM to provide.
This is where you need a site like laptop video to go - they have the modded inf files needed to make the standard divers work on laptop GPU's

I have the 7950gtx you're referring to AL47, I'm using the 163.71 vista driver (dated 17th Sep 2007), from the site above. The driver is WHQL certified, works a treat.
Hope this helps!

sorry - it's the 163.69 driver for vista 32 bit.

thanks guys, specially jimmybond, i now have 9/07 driver rather than 2/07

hopefully should make a difference to games!

You wont notice much different in games with new driver, as the newer drivers tackle stability issues rather than performance,

Thats down to what card you have.

...upgrading my driver from the one provided by Rock (notebook manufacturer), increased 3dMark06 score from about 5000, to 5200ish. This is only 4% admittedly - but people pay vast sums of money for slightly better graphics cards nowadays - so if you can get 4% just with a driver change, go for it! :-)
