Dell solution problem

I wish to defragment my computer and after going through the usual defragment routine my computer appears to be defragmenting, but no matter how long I leave my computer on (overnight on one occasion)it does not defragment. I decided to use Dell solutions and chose to solve the problem myself, however, Norton Anti Virus kicks in and the message reads as follows: Norton Anti Virus - High Risk. Malicious Script Detected. Your computer is halted and needs to do simething about this script:
Object: File system object
Activity: Get Special Folder
File: Helpctr.exe
Can anyone advise me what helpctr.exe is and if it is an essential part of Dell solutions. If it is not how do I get rid of it.
My PC is a Dell and my system is Windows ME Millenniun Edition.
