Dell Pc's

Hi All
I have a dell PC that I bought one year ago, I have been told by a friend that it is not possible to uppgrade the components in the computer by myself an that I have to get dell to do it for me......anyone know if this is true?

I want to upgrade the machine as it has become slow when playing movies and when it has several applications open, I plan on playing my music through the pc and would expect a bit better quality than I have at the moment.

Thanks in advance

mmm, I updated the Ram in my Dell lappy from 512 to 2 gig (£28). Uesd crucial tool, make it easy for you to select right stuff.
Good luck

I've got three Dells at home and twenty four here at the office. All of them had have upgrades since purchased, mostly memory, but some have had replacement hard drives. All carried out without having to bother Dell.

Like ventanas, I upgraded my old Dell with both HDD, RAM, and Ethernet. No problem. You need to look and see the Max Ram you can install for your model.
