Dell LCD defective calibration message

I have a Dell Dimension 3100 running windows xp home. I use Adobe Photoshop elements for picture editing. I have only recently bought this pc and find that when I try to edit pictures, I keep getting an error message saying " The monitor profile DELL E177FP G2.2 D65 appears to be defective. Please rerun your monitor calibration software".

I have rerun the automatic calibration and it makes not difference.

Although the program allows me to ignore the messge I have noticed that some colours are not true and assume that the reason for this is indeed down to defective calibration.

Have I got a bad monitor which I should return or not? All help gratefully received.

Thanks santos that seems to have done the trick. ~I didn't know you had to calibrate lcds but you obviously do have to.
