Dell laptop - microphone problem

The saga of my wife's Inspiron (Vista) continues. After having to re-install Windows and the drivers following a complete crash, speech from the built-in microphone is very garbled - son says it sounds like Mr Blobby. I am wondering if it is a driver problem, but have no idea how to locate the specific one for the micro or what to do when I have. Any tips much appreciated.

Enter service tag no and all the drivers for that model will be available

Would suggest that you download all the drivers for the Inspiron 1525 Service Tag 589PR3J and burn

to a cd than you will not be looking for drivers if you have to install drivers at a later date
