Less than a week after singing Dells praises and one of our Laptops keels over.

Inspiron 6400 with Vista screen goes dead within 10 minutes of start up. Will be talking to Dell on Monday but anyone any pointers in the meantime?

Screen was faulty 2 weeks ago and was replaced.

If screen is ok when you boot then suggest you have a look at the power management settings.

Is it going to sleep / hibernation?

even uninstalled some programmes loaded recently such as msn etc.

wondered if a corrupt programme was causing the fault?

What happens if you reboot when it goes blank ? Does it come back on again , or does it need to be left for a while before it shows again for another 10 minutes ? Does this one have built in graphics ( motherboard ) or dedicated ( GF7300 or ATI X1400 )?
