I want to double the current RAM capacity of my laptop from 1024 MB (2 x 512 MB Samsung Modules)to 2048 MB (2 x 1024 MB), and increase the computers performance

I have visited the CRUCIAL website and their recommendation is two of the Crucial 1GB 200-pin SODIMM DDR2 PC2-5300 memory module, which they guarantee are compatible.

can anybody offer advice on whether this would be a good upgrade, or should I stick to the Samsung originals, as they all seem to be reasonably priced.

Fitting is very easy.

Crucial has a very good name for its memory modules. And when you use their online system scanner tool to recommend your memory upgrade, they guarantee that the modules will be compatible.

I've used them more than once, and would have no hesitation in recommending them.

But the Samsung originals should be good, too.

Thanks Pineman100, I have taken your advice and ordered the upgrade today.

Good value for 2 x 1GB upgrades, and all for £23.

Are you OK fitting the modules? If you want a tutorial you'll find one of the Crucial site, too. Look on the right hand side of this page for the links: click here
