When I booted up this PM I heard too many alarm bells to let me know that there was a serious problem on my PC, so started looking for another, and I,ve come up with this to ask your advise about.

Dell inspiron 570
OS W7 home premium
CPU 2.8GHz AMD Athlon
RAM 2048MB
HDD 320GB
Graphics ATI Radeon HD4200
DVD Writer
COST £299.00

Is it good value?

I don't do gaming.

It may be good value - in fact I have seen it for less - but I have heard too many bad reports about Dell's after care service. But you don't have to take my word for it.

Can't see anything wrong with that, maybe a touch more memory wouldn't go amiss , and as it is new with free delivery and a years warranty and 15 months McAfee you can't really go wrong . You might want to add another DVD reader at some time in case you need to copy any disks .

Sorry guys, I should have said that this was a refurbished desktop PC with room for improvement.

"Refurbished" - in that case I would say it was a decent buy.

So whats wrong with the one you have

Whenever I boot up Alarm bells sound off for about 3 to 5 seconds. It's been suggested to me that it's a problem on the MoBo. At the moment I'm just looking around and weighing up my options.
I'll tick this as resolved.
Thank you all for your input.
