Dell Hot key for ejecting disc tray not (F10 Key)

I have a Dell laptop, however the hotkey does not work for opening the cd tray, this is done by pressing the Fn key and F10.

Any ideas please.

Press the button on the CD tray or right click the drive and select "eject" - seems easier to me.

Right-click on drive icon and select Eject.

Does the FN key work for other functions ?

For example: battery indicator/enable wireless card etc ?

If not,go into the bios F2 on startup and check the FN facility is enabled.

Sorry its a little vague,i have a Dell laptop Inspiron 6400 but not with me at the moment.

When I press and hold the Fn and F10 the tray used to open, know it does not, however all the other function keys operate, such as Mute Volume up and down.
