Dell Dimension XP Disk

I've used the utility on my Dimension to create a CD-R version of the Windows XP disk that they provide you with these days.

However as CD-R's can become scratched and/or lost I was wondering whether it was worth copying the files to an external hard disk just in case.

Is this allowed under the Microsoft Licence since it's only for my personal use should my disk die or would it not work?

Anything that I want to keep for a long time is always copied to a slave drive, and to another PC at a different site, just in case. It's then just a matter of copying to another CD.

It's actually Dell's terms that would apply here, but I do not see any problem as it's only for use with the one machine. I would do it quickly.
