Hi all,

my dell dimension 300 has decided to not to boot at all, when the power button is pressed the noise of the fans are heard and a few LEDs flash but then nothing happens, the computer just wont power up at all!

I have disconnected all the devices including memory and the same happens.

I have recently changed the CMOS battery as it was flat, i am confident this will not be the cause of the problem?

any help please??

thank you!!

Can you boot into safemode ?
Tapping f8 on startup should get you to safemode.

You can also try resetting the bios by moving the jumper cap on the bios pins from 1-2 to 2-3 for a few seconds and replace the jumper cap to 1-2.Then try to reboot the system.
