Dell Dimension 1100 power supply

I have a Dell Dimension 1100 which reqires a new power ATX supply. I am aware that Dell tend not to use standard parts and charge the earth for replacement parts. I suppose that is what expect when you buy cheap computers. What I am concerned about is I can get a std ATX psu to fit but are the outputs likely to be the same and if not, am I likely to blow the mobo.

Measure the existing power supply to make sure of the physical size you want.

look at the label which will tell you the output in watts. Use this as a minimum requirement, as a larger output will not harm.

The voltages, etc are pretty standard on an atx supply, so all should be ok , provide as stated it will physically fit in the case.

There should be no problem changing the psu, taking Fingees suggestions as requirement, especially 'physically fit in the case'.

Ebuyer, PC World, Novatech etc should have available the item you want.

Std atx psu will not fit, got reconditioned one on ebay.
