Dell 5150 front pannel switch -

I have not much hair left and the problem is so small. The scenario has been the flashing orange front pannel light that has been resolved by replacing the power supply. But, in the process of removing the front panel where the power switch is located, 'something' fell off the end of the switch and has not been seen since. This means that the piece of perspex that is attached to the front pannel power swich that connects with the switch that sits on the board does not actually engage with the shaft of the on /off switch. Any one know what has gone missing? is it some type of spring? gasp!

I saw one with what looked like a bit of a straw on top of the switch shaft that was about 10mm longer than the switch contact. There was no spring involved and the piece was not glued on but could not fall off as there was not enough room once the front was on.

This can happen as the actual switch is not directly attached to the front switch - much like CD drawers. If you can't find the original part then try substituting a matchstick or something less flammable......
