I want to clear out a load of temporary internet files without loosing any of the cookies which contain details of passwords "remembered". (Windows ME)Can anyone suggest the way to do a selective clearance?

I suggest you use the normal route, IE, Tools, Internet Options, General Tab then delete files.

All you "important" cookies will be preserved and, most of, the dross removed.

This subject was one I brought up and received some excellent advice on from several contributors. You might wish to look at it I sent the message on 26th May under the heading Has deleting cookies caused this problem.

Why not delete all the cookies at the same time. Then instal 'Cookie Wall' from click here

Set it to prompt when a cookie is received, you'll soon have all your 'password' cookies back and all others blocked.

Credits for 'Cookie Wall' to mikef?. Had to go and look that up!
