Does anyone know if removing Quicktime is advisable. In add/remove programs it says removing it can cause applications to malfunction........Or I'd like to remove it from startup, but cannot find it on the startup list. Don't really use it so either would be ok.

as it is probably the only prog that will open .MOV files

if you have ccleaner go to Tools -Startup - and select qttask from menu and delete entry to stop it starting at boot

Hi, you can uninstall QT by going to Start>All Progams>Quicktime then click on Uninstall Quicktime. I have often seen the 'warning' message when uninstalling programs, have still uninstalled, not yet caused any problems over the past six years - says he, with fingers-crossed. However, if the uninstall gives you the option to NOT uninstall certain bits, especially .dll files, then leave them on your harddrive, but uninstall the rest. Hope that makes sense! And I have uninstalled QT in the past - though I do have it on my pc again now.

Cheers.

Cheers.
