Deleting Norton anti-Virus

I intend deleting Norton Anti-Virus - mainly because the update charge coincided with the arrival of my Council Tax Bill.

I intend downloading BVG is there anything special to watch for. Naturally I propose using the add/remove programme function and presumably I delete Norton - restart the computer & then go on the Internet to download BVG.

Why do I worry that Norton won't like being removed?

The only time I've done it successfully first time is to use its own uninstall, viz, Start, Programs, Norton, Uninstall.

There will be a few leftovers, mainly folders and Liveupdate but I deleted them and left them in the bin for a week or so.

Happy deleting.

Can I asked as to how much the update charge is for NAV?

if you don't mind this question being asked that is.

Thanks Powerless - quite a bit of reading there!
I'm hoping conventional 'remove' will do the trick
