Deleting files in WXP

I have done some batch processing of photo files from .bmp to .jpg using Paintshop Pro.

Excellent it was, too.

However, I'm now left with a whole bunch of .bmp files that I want to get rid of.

How can I do a batch delete from the relevant folder in Win XP?

This sort of thing used to be SO simple in Win 3.1 with its oh-so-much better file manager.

Any help would be gratefully received and my hard drive would bless you or even have your children!

Arrange the files by Type - this puts all the bmp files together.

Click on the firt one - hold down the shift key and use the mouse to scroll to the last one and click on that. all the bmp files will then be "marked".

Click the delete button.

I cannot cope with all this mouse driven stuff at all.

I resorted to using DOS commands from the command prompt :)
