Thanks to this forum I got rid of popups which were messing up my system but now I get a message at startup saying 'file xxx does not exist ...' and saying I should remove it from the registry. Don't know how to do this - any ideas please. I appreciate your help.

go to start , run, type in regedit. Do not delete anything unless you are 100% sure you know what it is.

Whats the file, I would be careful, there are malicious scripts that encourage these acts when all is well.

It can be very dangerous to mess in the registry unless you have backed it up. Start>run>regedit>file>export to say your desktop. If you have a problem I think you just double click on it. HTH TR

Yes, better off going to Start, Run, type in

msconfig

click OK

Go to the startup tab, untick xxx there, OK your way out and restart the comp.
