Deleting e-mails from windows mail

I run Vista Home Premium and Windows mail, and all the e-mails I received on 19th and 20th of July 2008 that I read and deleted as normal were placed in the Deleted Items folder. However, I cannot remove them from there, keep getting "An unknown error has occurred". I've tried re-booting obviously, tried individual, tried shift+delete, tried moving them etc, etc. I normally receive between 70-100 a day from a professional dental chat line that I belong to and usually delete them by using "Empty deleted items folder, but now have to delete each item individually, which is a pain.Any ideas on how to move these stubborn e-mails?

This link specifies the Outbox but it works for the other mail boxes as well and may work for Deleted Items click here

You may still have to delete the stuck message after applying the fix. Remember where the fix is as you may need it again.
