Action - scan for new hardware - XP will scan for and reinstall the driver.

Is it a onboard Ethernet or a PCI card.? if it's onboard you need to know what the motherboard is to get the drivers for it

My system is 2000. I got into system tools but there is no restore facility there but found this:-

Device - Ethernet Controller

PNP Device ID - PCI\VEN_10B7&DEV_6056&SUBSYS

Error Code - 28

Its On board and the motherboard has been replaced.

  woodchip 22:34 15 Oct 05

Then if you know what Motherboard we need to know, so we can google for them

Will have to find this out and I'll get back.

Thanks for all the help.

did you get the board's driver disk when it was replaced? If you did the drivers will be on it.

No they didn't give me a driver disc Goomer but thanks for that idea anyway.
