delay in delivery of e-mail

Hi! This is Crespo calling. Bit of a problem - i've sent an e-mail to my friend in the U.S.A. only to have a message sent back this evening saying "delivery status notification - message to this recipient is delayed". It's from the Postmaster @hotmail - she's on AOL in the US. So, is there a problem with my e-mail system OR the system in the US OR is there some sort of backlog in delivery at Hotmail? This e-mail is v. important & i'm worried about the length of delay or (more seriously) that she doesn't receive it at all. This is the 1st time it's happened & any help or advice would be v.welcome.Cheers! and thanx. C.

Did your email have an attachment? Can you send the same email via a different email address?

that hotmail is queuing the mail for some reason, or that there's an AOL mailserver problem. Does your American friend not have a fax? What you sent via email you can send by fax - if the message was simply text.
