Dektop on it's side.

just got a call from a mate, after windows welcome screen the desktop and icons are on their side, anyone know the problem and how to rectify, he's gor xp home and a desktop pc, cheers, dougie.

This is a feature supplied by your ATI or NVidea drivers - you need to get into the ATI control panel or Nview to rotate the screen back. You can also uncheck the box which allows people to accidently change it using a key combination.

Go into the graphics function from either desktop or control panel, there should be a rotate option in there. Alternatively there will be a simple keyboard command , have a look at the manual.
