After trying to defrag my XP PRO system it gets to 13% and then says files cannot be defraged. there are 357 files 6.98 gig in \recycler\nprotect\00000000

I have tried accessing the files with no luck, I also tried safe mode but that gets to 14% then the above error.

I also tried rebooting to DOS and deleting them but that cannot find the files

Has any one any clues as to how to proceed
Thanks in advance

right click the NPrecylebin and purge Norton protected files. Use norton speed disk instead of xp defrag.

Uninstall Norton then re install, that should clear it, it did me, only this Sunday.
