Try defragging in safe-mode

Most defrags have an option to show the map. Click that. Then, as Dazwm says, try defragging in safe mode to avoid anything alse running at the same time making defrag restart.

Try turning off your screensave if u have one active. If your using Winxp u can defrag while you are using your computer. You have to reboot to start your computer to start it

1 click on detail to get "all the little bits"

2 Defrag in safe mode, to do this, restart your computer, start tappong the F5 key and this will take you to Safe Mode

now defrag the computer
