***Defender*** How many people with Defender probs

  skidzy 16:21 23 Feb 06

After downloading Windows Defender was:
{MS Antispy}

After upgrading to Windows Defender from Microsoft,i have had nothing but problems and i dont think im alone.

Error code: INVALID POINTER 0X8004003

Ive unistalled and ran Ccleaner to clear the rest of the redundant files, and will reinstall later.

Im a little concerned is it worth having at the moment or should i wait till MS get it sorted.

I have had no problems at all, and I think it's very good.Reinstalling may solve your problem.

Don't forget, Defender is still only a beta version still in test, and not everyone has the same configuration on their computer, what causes problems for some works perfect on anothers.

If in doubt, uninstall it and wait fot the finished version.

Ok,Reinstalled and working fine.
Last night i ran Ewido and Ccleaner, maybe they were just a little aggressive.

I Just think people should be aware of this.

I've had a similair problem with IE 7 beta 2. I contacted Microsoft and they gave me some advice and a couple of forums to help but it did no good so I just deleted it and will wait till the full version comes out

Works great for me and automatically updates.

it seems to work very well. It's going to form part of Vista when it launches - at least, that's the plan.

  big bloke66 19:08 23 Feb 06

Works great here too & auto updates.

Got this off the Defender help forum.
Start Run type this and o.k.
Mine now runs and updates o.k.and gives information in tray when it does something,if you click that option.
