Dead PC

Tried to start the PC this morning and was met with a flash and small bang from the on switch. Since then the PC has been dead. I thought that this might be the power supply, so I put in my old supply and the PC is still dead. Is this likely to be motherboard death instead? I would appreciate any help/advice anyone has.

Motherboard MSI K8T Neo FIS2R
Power supply Akasa 460W.

if your luck it is only the power switch but I'm surprised about a flash and bang it normally only takes a very small amount of current.

remove the two wires from mother board to switch and momentarily short out the two pins on the board this sends the signal to the PSU to fire up.
