A freinds pc today just wont startup i press the on button on the front the drive whirrs into like but then nothing nothing on the monitor no beeps cd=rom drives dont open nothing so whats up sorry this wont be much help but if possible i dont want to operate inside

Agree with woodchip's diagnosis,had the same problem and it was the PSU that was faulty.

well looks like i have to operate thanks guys i guess this is the not so fun part of owning a pc lol
my mates going to be upset as he cant really afford any new bits right now.
and she needed the pc urgently today to print some pictures.
is this a problem that occures alot or is it rare?

in 9 years of computing only had to replace a power supply once so does not happen very often
