This follows on from my subjects closed last night, fruit bat and longhouse gave me advice on poblem i have. Sorry i dont know how to add links.
Anyway i have taken the ide cable from my two dvd drives and put in the cable that is 44 pin at one end and 40 in at the other ( i think it is anyway). This now links my laptop drive to the motherboadrd. I have booted up and it didnt recognise it, then went into BIOS and set auto detect hard drives, still did not recognise it, i did then take out the cable from the back of the lapto drive and i heard the drive slow down and stop. Does this mean the drive is working ok, but my desk top wont recognise it or does it just mean the power is getting to the laptop drive but the recognition is at fault somewhere?.
