Dead Hard Disk.

A friend has an old system it was working fine until he moved it to a new place. When he connected it up he still had no problems, got on to the internet and everything was just peachy. when he rebooted then he got the insert system disk message.
At the post screen there are no hard disks installed.
Like I said it was an old system and he didn't have an up to date anti virus.
With this said has the disk died a natural death or could it have been virus related.

Maybe the cable has just worked loose. I get this sometimes and just re-booting cures it.

Otherwise (all usual precautions) switch off, open case, carefully put cable from drive and re-connect. Ditto power cable.
