i recently tried to repair windows to fix a problem but it went through the installation process and when i enter my product key it says its invalid. How do i fix this? Do i need to deactivate windows and if so how would i do that?

You don't need to "de-activate" Windows.
The installation wont know that the serial has ever been used, nevermind activated.

But you MUST format the old system with XP on, as your license is for ONE machine, not two...

ps.... You may have typed the serial in wrong

what do you mean by format the old system

Are you going to reinstall Windows XP over the top of itself? If so, you wont have to format.

However, if you are going to install XP onto another machine, you will have to format (remove Windows XP) from the old system first as your license is only for one machine....

Hope that makes more sense...

Can you boot into windows at the moment?
If so, try "Magical Jelly Bean" from click here for your serial..

Note it down (make sure you write it down correctly) and try again ;-)
