de-partitioning a drive

  FEEBS 16:07 22 Aug 10

I have an Acer 2410 laptop with 40Gb HDD, it came with it partitioned. There is nothing in one of the partitions (17Gb) but the other is 60% full and it runs slow. Is there any way I can remove the partition and will it allow the drive to run faster ? It runs XP SP2
Thanks for any help

This should do it for you.your computer won't run faster but it will give you more room on your C:

If you are certain that the partition contains no data and isn't required, a program such as Easeus Partition Master click here will let you delete the partition. Partition Master can then increase the main partition's size using the Unallocated Space created by removing the unwanted partition.

You may not be able to run Recovery discs after, So you should first create a Image of your drive, to a External Drive using Acronis
