I am trying to purchase 1Gb of ram but the one thing that is bothering me before I order is 'ECC and non-ECC registered' Can you tell me what this means and should I be going for one or the other?

Go on the crucial website and do a scan it will tell you exactly what you want

click here check your mobo manual for the correct memory.

If you do not have the manual, post your motherboard details and we will try to find the manual.

As Mike says, use the crucial scanner, but i should say this.
Crucial's scanner has been very tempormental recently and provided some strange scan results.Though is normally reliable.

I unfortunately do not know what model number of Evesham it is other than it is a Pentium 4 3000MHz. I have run Everest and it tells me the number of slots and that it requires PC3200 DDR SDRAM. What I have been looking at is ' Kingston 1GB 400Mhz DDR PC Ram Memory (PC3200) 184pin'. But still not sure of compatibility given non-ECC etc?

Should tell you when you click on the motherboard icon in Everest what model it is.

I HAVE 200 pieces of this memory but none of them work, all are non registered, and brand Samsung. I am frustrated, I have test those on different kind of mother boards.

Any view will be greatly appreciated.

200 pieces?

It would appear that the memory you require is the same as mine (judging by click here)

The one I use is:

but you obviously need to check it out thoroughly first.
