I.ve got Avast and Comodo installed and I'm receiving warning messages from Avast about a Dcom Exploit attack on my machine.Avast seems to be taking care of it, but I can't understand why Comodo isn't blocking it and thus stopping it getting as far as Avast. Can anyone advise?

Get the "DCOMbobulator" from click here to disable DCOM in Windows.

Thanks mgmcc, downloaded it anmd followed the instructions. Noted the part that said the Windows patch should be installed before you do it. I couldn't be sure it was but I went ahead anyway...should I have done that?

The "DCOMbobulator" has been on that site for quite a while now (several years), so you've probably already got the patch in a Service Pack - SP1 or SP2.

Ok I discombobulated it anyway. Any idea why my Comodo Firewall missed it?

I've never used Comodo, so I don't know the answer to that. :(
