Dates in Autotext (WORD)

,I know there is a way,but my memory fails me in my old age - When using autotext to insert a date in a Word document how do you stop the date from changing to the current date when re-opening the saved document

Click Insert - date and time.

update automatically is the box jsut above the OK button

I think you misunderstand. When I produce a letter for instance and the date is automatically put in to it, when i re-open it after saving , I don't want it to change the date on the letter. I want the date to be the date that I produced the letter.
