running win xp pro, sp2 amd 3ghz gf5200 512mb ddr pc3200, abit nf7 mb. run virus checker zonealarm pro & spyware doctor doesnt find anything. everytime i restart the pc the date & time goes back to July 9th. I cant see it being the cmos battery as all other bios settings are retained. Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

have you checked the time zone in windows? .have you reset the bios/loaded a new bois .i'd still try a new bios battery also check the clear bios jumper.when it resets is it july 2006 /05/04. how old is the system?

It most likely that it is the cmos battery as above says...
