I seem to have obtained a superimposed date/time display (approx 6 X 3cms, dark blue with light blue lettering). Where did this come from - and how do I get rid of it?

Is this displayed on the desktop?

If you do a right click on it are there any options shown?

Version of Windows might help as well (possibly irrelevant but you never know).

Do you by any chance have an Audigy sound card installed in your system?

To "VoG" yes it's on desk top - and on every page selected. Right clic produces nothing, I'm using Windows XP home

To "Night Ryder" Yes - I have an Audigy sound card and system!

What now - please!

Sorry, I was away for a while. I'm guessing that your Audigy card has a remote control. The remote control allows you to display a digital clock on the desktop if the correct button is pushed. You will have to go through the menue system of your sound card and turn this off. The selection may have been made accidentaly by a button push on the remote control.
