Database Software

I've recently got a new PC from a friend, it has come with office on it but it doesn't include Access for some reason.

I'm self employed so have alot of databases and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me any good bits of database software (ideally free but not essential) that would allow me to open and edit my current databases.

Many thanks

Access only comes with the high end (expensive) versions of Office.

There are constraints with using OpenOffice and Access see click here.

However I don't think that there are many options available.
