Data transfer rate too low to capture video

I am unable to capture video on my PC.
When I try I get a message telling me that my hard drive "C" is unable to take video from my digital camcorder because the data transfer rate is too low. I am using a new Cannon MV850i camcorder and Pinnacle Studio 7 software. My hard drive was installed last year, Maxtor 80G and I have 62G free, Pentium PIII 548mhz, 512MB RAM, Win XP Pro and I have DMA and Auto Detection enabled in both IDE Channels. Is there anything I can do please ?

Your processor is too slow for the task. Recommended minimum processor for video capture is 800MHz Pentium or 700MHz Athlon. The rest of your set-up sounds OK.

Thanks for the solution Scotty. I bought a new processor and also had to buy a new motherboard but everything works fine now.
