Data shredder

  CKHUK 14:40 17 Dec 05

I am disposing of my 5 year old computer, and am worried that the new owner may be able to access my private data.

Please can anyone advise me:

If I delete all my files, the run a complete defragmentation, will this safely overwrite all my personal stuff?

Or, will I have to buy a commercial data shredder?

Have a look through the downloads section under the security heading.

Cheers Chris.

This will do what you require click here.

Use it to delete the files and then run it over the unused disk area.
