Data recovery

As I said in an earlier post my main desktop failed due to a mainboard/BIOS failure.

All valuable data was on another drive and backed up onto an external, so no loss there.

But there is always something on the OS disk that you realise you've lost.

In my case things that were on it but not yet backed up at the time of the failing, email addresses, emails, bookmarked web pages.

How do I go about retrieving this? Will one of those cables that enable an HD to be read through a USB terminal give me access to that?

So long as the hard drive wasn't damaged, Quickbeam, then there are a few ways of retrieving the data, the cable you mention, install the drive in another PC and drag and drop the files, put the hard drive into an external USB case enclosure.

Thanks MAJ, I'll go and get one of those cables.
