Data Card

The data card slot on my laptop isn't working (I've checked it with several cards just to check that it isn't a hardware problem). I'm running XP. How can I check what the problem is - are there any diagnostic progs on XP?

Check in device manager for any exclamation marks against the equipment?

Device manager seems happy. The data card works OK on my partner's lap top (so thats not the problem). But other data cards, which also work on my partner's laptop, do not work on my lap top either

Does it need to be enabled in the BIOS?

Try removing the PCMCIA adapter from Device Manager and rebooting to make it reload the drivers.

And thirdly, Are you sure which type of PCMCIA slot it is. Normally the data cards require Type II.
