Dan Elwell's Broadband Speedtest - a fault or con?

  dickieb 13:11 07 Nov 06

I loaded the speedtest from PC Advisor disc, and upgraded paying ten pounds. Since then the programme has always failed to complete coming up with " Run-time Error 13 - Type Mismatch "

Emails to the helpline produced no response.

Is this programme produced by a clever student boosting his funds (probably quite dramatically!) and in reality is worthless?

Has anyone else had similar problems? Or is it just that I do not know how to rectify the problem?

I can't believe they charge for a speedtest. If you don't get a satisfactory response I would ask for a refund and use one of the widely available free speedtests.

Have you read the link given by Dipso?
Norton can be a problem with this tester. I have been able to get replies from Dan Elwell but it can take some time!
