Cursor keeps freezing...

Since yesterday my cursor has been acting very strange. Whenever I go to open a new inet window or a new program it freezes for a time, sometimes its only 5 seconds but it can be for a minute or so.

Does this sound like my computer is under threat, or is it just a memory problem with something taking up all my system resources?

Any help will be greatly appreciated ;)

Assuming you dont have anti-malware,

Spybot, ad-aware, a squared (but maybe not in that order). All downloaded from advise from this site. All used by myself. All work.

once you have these, run each in turn. follow their own help files/advice, but generally delete anty nasties they find. a squared is very slow, but give it time.

Then if you still have problems, post back.

If you do, over to others, perhaps too many running processes?

I have spybot and adaware but neither picked up anything. Also I have run norton anti virus and still no clue as to what it could be :s

If your cursor is still freezing try switching everything off, disconect your mouse, switch everything back on,plug in your mouse and see what happens.failing that the cheapest alternative
is a new mouse.

naah its not my mouse - it must be something running in the background - my mouse is a very good new one.

Even when i type here now I am getting freezes, and its very frustrating.

Anyway, I did a windows update today from the m$ site, but did not install SP2 ... so I think it must have something to do with that ;s
