Current PCA issue: AMD, Microsoft's Rival?

  tasslehoff burrfoot 22:43 02 Apr 05

This is just a quickie (I think).

Page 16, under the heading "XP Pro makes move to 64bit" it states "Microsoft is playing a game of catch up with rivals AMD".

I at first shrugged this off as a genuine error which should have read Intel. But the flow of the piece goes against this idea.

So, what is the "rivalry" between the world's largest software company and the world's "runner up" CPU manufacturer? (For the record I have always used AMD chips, but they are perceived to be "runners up" to Intel)

Or should it read Intel.

Many thanks.

They have a lot of advanced features and Intel are not making good choices of late. AMD seems to be making the best moves on the latest way to go for the Market. and It looks like there market team and developers are putting more effort in to development in the right direction for the public. Well that's what I think.
