Looking for a new 17" laptop. Any opinions on Dell regarding durability ?

I have been looking at the Vostro 3750, the middle one of the range here, http://www.dell.com/uk/business/p/vostro-laptops.aspx?c=uk&cs=ukbsdt1&l=en&s=bsd&~ck=mn#!facets=213169~0~3086418,207682~0~3031577&p=1

Their pricing seems a little strange in some ways. For example, 3yrs warranty on the top model is only £30. Buy the same laptop in lesser spec (HDD and RAM) and it's £90.

The lack of junk software appeals as does the willingness of Dell to have what are essentially service manuals on their site.

I would be quite happy to upgrade the 3Gb RAM of the mid range model (£30 from Crucial for 8Mb).

But what are Dell like ???????

My experiences of Dell Support have always been good. All the call centres I have contacted have been based in India but everything has always been resolved to satisfaction, in one case them sending out an engineer to replace a motherboard on a hybrid PC, and on another them sending out an entire replacement computer. I'd have no hesitation buying from them.

Thanks for the thumbs up on that [email protected]

Always good to hear of positive experiences from customer support.
