My example layout click here

Hi,

I'm new to CSS, so i'm learning as i go along.
I'm having real problems with things displaying properly in Firefox. I now realise that i should build for Firefox and then fix it for IE, i've learnt that lesson for the next time!

In IE6, the footer is where it should be, at the bottom of the container, below the div containing the text. But for some reason in Firefox & IE7 the footer has decided to float somewhere in the middle and not sitting below the text div.

My second problem is that the navigation div, sits slightly lower then it does in IE, so now it sits behind the news div.

I imagine you are going to tear my CSS to bits. I know its valid, but im sure there are gonna be something in there that ive done wrong.

Please please help. This is the only thing (i hope) holding me back!!

Thanks in advance!

You can put the footer into the correct place by moving it up 2 lines so that the end of your code looks like this:

<div align="left"> </div>
<div id="footer"><img src="footer.jpg" width="819" height="58" /></div>
</div>
</div>
</body>

The line that reads: <div align="left"> </div> doesn't seem to be doing anything so this can safely be removed.

You then need to adjust the position of the header and the following change to the css seems to work:

position: relative;
left: -182px;
height: 58px;

I have changed the height simply to match the height of your footer graphic.
